In some locations you may need to place your masts, antennas or satellite dishes in an elevated position to gain a strong signal. If the structure is less than 3 m above the highest point of the building, no permit is required. If it is a free-standing device and no more than 8m tall, again no permit is required.
However, if the structure is taller than specified above, then you will need a building permit.
